Tumbarumba to Rosewood Family Fun Day

10th Apr

Tumbarumba, NSW

After twelve months of delays, the Tumbarumba to Rosewood Family Fun Day event is now able to go ahead as a Covid Safe event on Saturday 10 April.

With funding being provided by Snowy Valleys Council and local businesses the Tumbarumba to Rosewood Rail Trail committee are pleased to be delivering a jam packed and fun filled day on the Rail Trail to celebrate it’s opening last year and the 1st birthday of the trail.

Commencing at 8:30am at Figures Street, the 1st birthday celebrations will kick off with coffee, a breakfast barbeque, birthday cupcakes and cycling displays.

Free activities and displays will be the highlight of the day with fun for the whole family at Glenroy Station, Kearsleys Function Centre, Wolseley Park, Pioneer Park and Gone Barny. Free shuttle buses will also be available with bike trailers for those wanting to do all or part of the trail. Food and drinks will be available for purchase at various locations along the trail.

Preceding the Family Fun Day is a Rail Trail Forum run by Rail Trails Australia, being held on Friday 9 April. The Forum offers the opportunity for attendees to hear about the success of the Tumbarumba to Rosewood Rail Trail, a year on from the opening, learn from experts on the nuts and bolts of Rail Trail development and construction, listen to representative from other rail trail committees around New South Wales share their stories and participate in a round table discussion about the way forward for NSW Rail Trails.
